Halal certificates

Halal certification is granted after reviewing the relevant documents, ingredients, uses (especially in food or cooking), manufacturing process, and ingredients used. If necessary, we conduct field visits to verify that no prohibited substances have been used or mixed with the product. Ethical and hygiene aspects are also checked simultaneously. Experts and Islamic scholars are consulted when necessary.

Certification is granted for one year at a time, and certification fees are typically charged per product. The amount or fee is determined by the relevant department of the association based on the product. The certification is only valid for the process studied; if the process changes, the new process must be studied, and if it continues to meet halal standards, an extension certificate is granted. The certificate is written in English and is valid for one year.

Malaysia and Indonesia require the certification body to be registered with them and to conduct strict inspections (which the applicant must agree to). The association has not applied for membership in these organizations, so we cannot guarantee the acceptance of the certificates in these countries. In addition, the association does not (yet) certify meat products slaughtered in Finland.
